Gates Seeks to Cheat Temps
An extremely angry federal judge condemned Microsoft for trying to cheat temporary employees of future pay and benefits.
Microsoft recently added language to temporary employees' contracts that would waive their right to any future court-ordered additional pay or benefits. U.S. District Judge John Coughenour called the language "outrageously arrogant." He said damages continue to accrue right up to trial. Contract workers first sued Microsoft in 1992 over their status, claiming the company treated them as full-time workers in every regard except compensation. Microsoft has not disclosed how many temporary employees it has, but they are believed to have about 5,000. (USA Today, 1-15-1999, www)
Leave it to poor Billy to cheat employees of as much money as possible. He's obviously too poor to pay them decent wages and benefits.
If poor Billy had any brains he would pay the highest wages and best benefits anywhere in the world to attract the best people as Henry Ford did. He could attract most of the computing talent in the world and monopolize the industry legally. Instead he pays the lowest wages possible and tries to cheat his employees. Billy just doesn't get it and he never will.
If someone with brains were running Microdumb it would monopolize the computer software and hardware industry and be the most powerful company in the world. We're lucky poor Billy is a village idiot.
