YOU MISSED THE NEW MILLENNIUM
If you think the new millennium starts at one second after midnight on December 31, 1999 you missed the new millennium. The new millennium began the first second after midnight September 28, 1999.
The calendar that the Western World uses was designed to begin with the birth of YAHSHUA YAHWEH of Nazareth the Mashiyach. Since He was born September 2 B.C. the millennian years begin the first second of September 29 every 1,000 years. When you count from B.C. to A.D. you gain one year because there is no year Zero. Instead of 2,000 years from 2 B.C. being 1998 it is 1999.
Now that you know the millennium has come and gone I hope it may make you think twice about celebrating a non-event. The only thing that will happen on December 31, 1999 is a change to a new year -- not a new millennium.
If you still believe in the non-existent new millennium starting on January 1, 2000 you must understand that the year 2000 is only 1,999 years since the start of A.D. Remember there is no year Zero. If you wish to celebrate the psuedo-millennium you can do that on December 31, 2000. Make your plans for that night -- not for this December 31st.
It makes sense to celebrate the millennium December 31, 2000 because of the problems that we may encounter due to Y2K.
If you believe in YAHSHUA YAHWEH of Nazareth you have no business celebrating a pagan festival -- New Years. You should also abstain from celebrating the other pagan (satanic) festivals of Ishtar (Easter), May Day, Holloween and Saturnalia (Christmas).
Instead of joining the unsaved in their festivals and practices YAHWEH commands us to "Come out from their midst and be separate" (2 Kor. 6.17).
